Infertility is the incapability to conceive after having unprotected intercourse. It is also referred to the biological impotency of a person to contribute to conception, or to a woman who incapable to carry a pregnancy. It is a disease that causes the abdominal functioning of the male or female reproductive system. 

Most couples will achieve pregnancy within 1 year of trying, the conception will occur during the early months. If you wanted to have a baby, and it seems like it does not happen as soon as you expected, you might have an infertility problem. 

According to the research if you are unable to conceive after 12 months of unprotected sexual intercourse and the woman is under the age of 35, 6 months if the woman is more than 35 years of age. You need to see an infertility specialist. Because 90% of couples will definitely achieve pregnancy within the first 12 months of unprotected sex if both of them were fertile. Nevertheless, some couples or 10% will either have pregnancy naturally, but it will take time or through the help of medical assistance such as In Vitro Fertilization or the IVF. Here are some symptoms of infertility in women:

1. AGE

- Age is one factor that causes infertility in women. When a woman is more than 35 years of age, she may experience infertility. Because a 30 year old woman has a 20% chance of getting pregnant during the fertilization cycle, but by the age of 40, possible pregnancy lower down to 5%. However, if you are already 35 years old and still trying for 6 months, it is about time to see your doctor for medical assistance.

Endometriosis
PCOS
Uterine Fibroids
Ovarian Cysts
STD’s
Recurrent Miscarriages (more than 3)
Adenomyosis
Blocked Fallopian Tubes

2. Hormonal imbalance

- Hormonal imbalance is one of the major causes of infertility.  This is also the cause why women experience irregular menstruation and other reproductive health problems. 

Here are the hormones affected by hormonal imbalance:

Progesterone
Estrogen
Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH)
Luteinizing Hormone (LH)
Androgens for example DHEA, Testosterone
Thyroid hormones
Prolactin

3. Irregular menstrual cycle

- Most women have between 11 and 13 menstrual periods each year. You might be experiencing an irregular menstrual cycle if you have more or fewer. Irregular menstrual cycle is one of the reasons of infertility.

Symptoms of this are the following:

Absent menstruation (amenorrhea)
Short (less than 21 days)
Long (over 35 days)
Heavy or long menstruation
Dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation)
Short menstruation time
Very pale menstruation
Clotty or very dark purple/black menstruation
Mid cycle bleeding


Male infertility is the incapability of man to cause pregnancy to a fertile female. The diagnosis of this disease can track through a medical history and physical exam by a physician or nurse. Basically two separate semen analysis will be required. The individual will undergo blood tests to look for hormone imbalances, medical conditions, or genetic issues.

Here are some symptoms of infertility in men, The most hormonal imbalance in men involves the production of the following:

Testosterone
DHEA
Prolactin
Estrogen

Sperm Count, Health & Delivery issues are:

Vas Deferens Blockage-varicoceles or STD damage
Low sperm count (oligospermia)
Abnormal sperm shape (teratozoospermia)
Abnormal or poor sperm movement (asthenozoospermia)
Immobile sperm (necrozoospermia)- when the sperm do not move at all; the sperm may be dead, partially alive or alive, but do not move.
Abdominal sperm production
Genetic disorders
