Stories of teenage pregnancy are not so new to us anymore. But do you know that this 13-years-old boy got a girl two years his senior pregnant? That’s right, 13-year-old Alfie impregnated Chantelle, who was 15-years-old.
According to The Sun, a British tabloid, Alfie was just permitted by his father to “sleep over at a girl’s house.” However, he didn’t know that his son would become a father that quick. In fact, Alfie was described as a “baby-faced” and doesn’t stand tall enough—the boy’s only four feet tall in height.
When the press asked if he had any idea on how he should support his child financially, the boy only answered—in a high-pitched voice nonetheless—that he doesn’t even have a clue on what the word “financially ” means.
Chantelle revealed in an interview that she was actually taking birth-control pills but she’d forgotten her dosage that time.
Alfie comes from Britain, which is considered the country with the highest teenage pregnancy rates in Europe. Numbers showed that in 2006, 39,000 girls under age 18 have already been impregnated.
Out of these figures, more than 7,000 of them were under 16 years of age. "I don't know the individual details of the case, but of course I think all of us would want to avoid teenage pregnancies," Prime Minister Gordon Brown said.
Local lawmaker Nigel Waterson called the situation "a very sad story which will have a huge impact on both the parents and the child.”
He added that it raised "huge questions" about the sexualization of children in British society and the effectiveness of the country's sex education program.
Alfie’s father, Dennis, was also interviewed and he said, "I will talk to him again and it will be the birds and bees talk. Some may say it's too late but he needs to understand so there is not another baby."
Shocking! Here is the whole report about it:
