But we couldn't deny how some people wanted to shame others just to brag and tell his friends that he is great, regardless of the words that are coming out of his mouth. Almost similar to what happened in a conference at UPLB where a student allegedly disrespected

Sa sinasabi niyo na SAKA NA...baka patay na si DU-30 niyan...hindi niya pa maumpisahan ang depensa na sinasabi niyo na SAKA NA...
Im not against DU-30 regarding sa crime desipline niya...ang ayaw kulang sa kanya maka Mindanao siya bakit?? kung totoo ang sabi niya na di siya corrupt at kawatan...No need to become Federalism kasi ang processo ng federalism ay matagal at baka patay narin siya di pa ma perfect kung pano paiiralin eto...pero kung ako tatanungin kasi nga sabi niya di siya corrupt ibig sabihin he can distribute the money fairly sa dapat mabigyan nito...na walang bahid na pag nanakaw...(malaki at mahabang study pa yong Federalism nayan na snasabi niya bago ma implement).

Kasi ang tanong ko lang po is - hindi po ba madadagdagan yung budget for defense, mai-implement niyo sa Davao City sa buong Pilipinas if ever you are president? Sana pakisagot lang po ng diretso dahil nagtatanong kami ng diretso dito para makauwi na po kayo."
Duterte then explained that he will deploy more policemen to maintain peace and order in the country while allocating the biggest piece of the national budget to education.
In his Facebook post, Villena defended his question, saying he was merely "posing an academic question which required an academic answer and I in no way intended to disrespect the good mayor."
He noted that the question on education vs defense is important since Duterte has already said he wants to focus on peace and order.

The student said that before he asked the question, he was already informed that Mayor Duterte was in a hurry to leave the forum as it was getting late.
He said he decided to ask a follow-up question to the mayor to answer the question directly "para maka-uwi na sya."
"To be clear, it was Mayor Duterte who was in a hurry to leave. The spliced video that was uploaded to the internet did not show the full exchange between me and Mayor Duterte. The cut video somehow made it appear na pinapauwi ko na si Mayor. Hindi po, sya po ang nagmadali na umuwi. In fact I only wanted to accommodate his wish to finish the Q&A portion of the forum asap. The end result was that the people who only saw the shortened video but did not participate in the forum somehow got the impression that I was bastos, arrogante, walang modo," he said.
He added: "This here is the crux of the matter: It is not so much the issues I raised with Mayor Duterte that garnered so much attention. It was rather my way of speaking that was deemed insensitive. The spliced video only deepened the perception by many that I arrogantly wanted Mr. Duterte to leave immediately. I am not exactly suave and charming when I speak. This is probably why I was seen as insensitive. But let me just say this: MY PERCEIVED LINGUISTIC IMPERFECTION IN NO WAY IMPLIES AN ARROGANT DISPOSITION."
"We live in a country where we value democratic principles. And in any democracy it is a given that there will always be a multitude of opposing views on what constitutes a healthy democracy and who are the best people qualified to manage our fragile democracy. He also denied that he is a blood relative of any of the candidates running for national office or that he is a friend of any of the children of Liberal Party vice-presidential bet Leni Robredo as alleged.

Kung national defense ang pag-uusapan, siguro nmn alam ng taong bayan na sa ilang bilyon pera na nakurakut ng mga liders ng pinas mula pa noon ay katumbas na ng ilang submarines, fighter planes atbp. Kaya kung si du30 ang maging presidente mawawala na ang corruption at doon kukunin ang budget para sa natl defense. But it take very long time to equip with warfares so still we neeed a good and strong foreign policy.

Kung ang tao ay hindi marunong umintindi sa pangyayari di tama pala ang plata forma ng pdp candidates ( education) alam nyo ba ang mga salitang lumalabassa bibig nyo tumahimik na kayo para hindi tayo kahiyahiya.

ReplyDeleteHindi sya pinatulan ni Mayor Duterte kasi hindi naman talaga sila magkakevel ng utak. Just saying. Kasi itong si Stephen, nagsasalita pa si Mayor Du30 panay sabat nya, everytime na sasagot si mayor duterte, lagi nyang sinasabayan. Wala nmang saysay ung question nya at halatang gusto nya lang pahiyain si Mayor Duterte. And it turned out na nakakahiya sa school dahil sa walang modo at respeto tong si Stephen. Hindi ata tinuruan ng magandang asal ng magulang nya.

Duon ka magtanong sa namamahala ng PNP and AFP kung bakit sa tingin mo maganda mga baril nila. O baka nabubulagan ka lang and siningle out mo Davao city kasi maayos ang peace and order duon. Kaya kahit parehas lang klase na armas ng mga sundalo and pulis sa buong Pinas ay tingin mo mas maganda mga armas sa Davao.
Magaral ka muna boy and patunayan sa sarili mo na makakapagtrabaho ka. Hindi yung ipakita mo kahambugan mo sa buong sambayanan. Hindi masama magtanong, pro yung klase ng pagtatanong clearly defines your intention to humiliate the Mr Duterte.
Right! The mayor already said he will put education and agriculture on top priority. But you Mr Villena still insisted how he would compensate for the national arms budget for policemen. Meron na budget dyan kahit lower priority man yan, macocompensate pa rin yan and makakabili ng mas maayos na kagamitan dahi mawawala o manabawasan na corruption sa pamahalaan.

During the forum, Villena asked Duterte how he would upgrade the weapons of the police without increasing the defense budget.

Duterte explained that the cathedral of Davao City had been bombed twice while the Davao airport was also bombed, hence the need to have better armaments for the police.

Villena then said: "Sana po pakisagot yung tanong ng diretso. Kasi ang tanong ko lang po is - hindi po ba madadagdagan yung budget for defense, mai-implement niyo sa Davao City sa buong Pilipinas if ever you are president? Sana pakisagot lang po ng diretso dahil nagtatanong kami ng diretso dito para makauwi na po kayo."
Duterte then explained that he will deploy more policemen to maintain peace and order in the country while allocating the biggest piece of the national budget to education.
In his Facebook post, Villena defended his question, saying he was merely "posing an academic question which required an academic answer and I in no way intended to disrespect the good mayor."
He noted that the question on education vs defense is important since Duterte has already said he wants to focus on peace and order.

The student said that before he asked the question, he was already informed that Mayor Duterte was in a hurry to leave the forum as it was getting late.
He said he decided to ask a follow-up question to the mayor to answer the question directly "para maka-uwi na sya."
"To be clear, it was Mayor Duterte who was in a hurry to leave. The spliced video that was uploaded to the internet did not show the full exchange between me and Mayor Duterte. The cut video somehow made it appear na pinapauwi ko na si Mayor. Hindi po, sya po ang nagmadali na umuwi. In fact I only wanted to accommodate his wish to finish the Q&A portion of the forum asap. The end result was that the people who only saw the shortened video but did not participate in the forum somehow got the impression that I was bastos, arrogante, walang modo," he said.
He added: "This here is the crux of the matter: It is not so much the issues I raised with Mayor Duterte that garnered so much attention. It was rather my way of speaking that was deemed insensitive. The spliced video only deepened the perception by many that I arrogantly wanted Mr. Duterte to leave immediately. I am not exactly suave and charming when I speak. This is probably why I was seen as insensitive. But let me just say this: MY PERCEIVED LINGUISTIC IMPERFECTION IN NO WAY IMPLIES AN ARROGANT DISPOSITION."

In my case I was not even fighting an opposing view with my personal view. I was ASKING for the particular view of one particular candidate running for public office regarding one particular issue."
He also denied that he is a blood relative of any of the candidates running for national office or that he is a friend of any of the children of Liberal Party vice-presidential bet Leni Robredo as alleged.

i have many friends who are uplb alumni, but unlike you, they are respectable, stephen...now i wonder how you got in & why uplb allowed you to stay...reflect on this: why bother yourself thinking about education and defense when you can't even tell the difference between compromise and compensate?

Diba sabi na c mayor duterte has invited by the UP students? Pinapunta lng ba nila c Mayor para bastosin. Nagtatanong lng ba sila para mgpasikat. Nasabi naman ni mayor na una talaga ang education. Tska wala naman yan sa priority kong ano ang uunahin. Kong hindi cya kontento sa sagot ni mayor edi manahimik nalng cya, hindi yung mangbabastos pa. Kong ayaw nya kay mayor edi hindi nya eto eboboto. Ganun kasimple lang yun.. tska kahit hindi politico ung tao dapat ginagalang. Hindi naman tanga c mayor, alam nya kong anong trabaho at responsibilidad ng maging presidente.

ReplyDeleteI clearly remember how we were being molded, honed and trained during our timE in UP. I dont know what went wrong along the way. Villena is the kind of sort that gives UPs sort a bad name. Its sad to see UP students becoming the monster this student had become. Such a waste. Real sad story for villena and his family him stooping down to that kind of level.
