A man from
Mississippi had a massive tumor that
developed in his body which made him unable to walk, work, and live his life, yet the doctors confined him in an oversized armchair because they thought he was ‘just fat’.
Roger Logan, 57, said having that 140-pound tumor was like carrying "three bags of cement around with you all day long, just swinging."
When Rogen had himself tested, the doctors’ initial findings were ‘just fat’ but his wife didn’t give up on searching for a specialist who could treat him.

“She just kept pushing,” Rogen said. “She wouldn’t let me quit.”
Eventually, they found Surgeon Vipul Dev from Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. Their consistent cross-country travels lasted for six months, 40 hours each, with the help of a friend from church who offered them a small plane. Some others also offered customized vans. They chose the cargo van instead and said it was “just like I was in my living room at home”.
According to Dev, the tumor came from an ingrown hair and generated its own blood supply inside Rogen’s body. Rogen was then was at risk and had a 50% chance of survival to be operated on.
The surgery was successful! Roger, after the operation, said he was looking forward to returning to his old life. He was excited to go fishing and walking again.
“My feet are together,” Roger said as he wiggled his toes in his hospital bed. “They haven’t been together in years.”
